Long distance coach transport

Plzen has a central bus station that is one of the biggest in the Czech Republic. It dispatches not only local coach lines but also long-distance coaches of the domestic and international coach lines.

Long-distance coach lines connect Plzen with all major cities in the Czech Republic, e. g.:
Praha, Brno, Hradec Kralove, Ceske Budejovice, Jihlava, Usti nad Labem, Cheb, Tabor, Sokolov, Karlovy Vary

International lines to the following countries go via the central bus station:
England, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, Spain, Switzerland, Luxemburg

There is regular connection with many European cities such as:
Paris, London, Rotterdam, Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, München, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Bonn, Barcelona, Madrid, Luxemburg, Bern, Zürich, Geneve

The dominant share in the suburban bus transport is performed by CSAD autobusy Plzen (Czech Bus Haulage Company), joint stock company, with a growing competition of a number of private companies serving both domestic and international routes, specially irregular transport.

Railway

Plzen is an important railway junction with six main direction (Praha, Cheb, Ceske Budejovice, Domazlice, Zelezna Ruda, Zatec). 

The Plzen Main Station is located near the city centre with 9 minor stations distributed over the suburbs. Railway is provided by Ceske drahy, a.s. (Czech Railway). EC and IC and international high quality express trains go via Plzen. These trains connect Plzen directly with the following cities: Frankfurt am Main, München, Nürnberg and Stuttgart.

Two pairs of international trains connect Plzen with the cities in Slovakia: Zilina, Kosice, and Poprad.

Air transport

The nearest airport for civilian transportation is the international airport Praha - Ruzyně, 85 km far from the city (60 minutes drive). Aeroplanes flying all over the world are operated by various companies, among others the Czech Airlines. It offers connection from Prague to more than 50 destinations in Europe, North America, Asia, North Africa and in the Central East.
